Design Activities: 

Osamu has worked as a designer for more than fifty years. He moved to California after extensive study of Ikebana in Japan for 7 years. While working at one of the most prominent flower shops in the Hollywood area, he has won numerous awards in floral design competitions and conducted many design classes and seminars throughout the United States and Canada. In 1985 he established his own retail flower shop, “Floral Decor by Osamu,” in Glendale, California, and served many well-established businesses and clients, including many celebrities, until February 1996. He started to engage with the consulting job with manufacturers in foreign countries while running his shop, and that led him to become a full-time consultant and product designer for importers in the United States and manufacturers in Asian countries. Most recently he had been working as head of the design team at one of the biggest artificial floral manufacturers in China.  He has business in Japan to sell artificial floral arrangements on TV shopping, also teaches floral design classes in several countries, and serves as principal of the Mei Cha Floral Design School in Taiwan.

His designs were seen in various major motion pictures and TV shows, as well as multi-page layouts for floral publications such as FTD Florist, Teleflora’s Flowers &, Design with Flowers, FTD Trends, FTD Selection Guide, etc.
